What is the disgorgement?
The process of removing the residues of re-fermentation from the wine (yeasts) and making it perfectly clear. Our Spumante Millesimato is aged in contact with the fine lees for 4 years.
How was the 2015 vintage?
A historic year where regular winter rain made the vines to accumulate enough water stock to face the hot and dry summer months. The excellent climatic trend allowed a great harvest not only for a good yield but especially for one of the highest quality in the last years.

The 2015 vintage will be remembered as an historic year.
The winter was mild, there were a few days with temperature below 0°C. The rain was regular: during the winter about 23 days were recorded with rainfall, especially in November. This allowed the vines to accumulate a good water stock for the summer months. Summer was definitely hot and dry.
The main diseases (downy mildew, powdery mildew) had a very low incidence and were very well contained both with the help of high temperatures, and with direct (organic treatments) and indirect defense techniques (cover crops, careful management of the soil).
The excellent climatic trend allowed a great harvest not only for a good yield but especially for one of the highest quality in the last years. The phenolic ripening of the Sangiovese grapes appeared perfect on all the vineyards. Certainly the wines obtained from the 2015 vintage will be suitable for long aging.
